The history of Sinnotts
Sinnotts Accountants was created in the early 1950’s with Patrick J (PJ) Sinnott servicing clients around the district from the boot of his car. He operated from several premises over the next few years before establishing a permanent office at 8 Church Street, Camperdown, around 1970. This office would be the base of the firm for the next 40 years.
Additional offices were established in Port Fairy in 1972, at ‘Ambleside’ in Warrnambool in 1997 and Colac in 2015. John Sinnott joined his father in 1970 and continued with the firm, remaining as a partner until 2010. Murray Whiting began with the firm in 1983, and joined John as a partner in 2001. He became the principal of the firm upon John’s retirement from the practice in 2010. Aaron Sinnott, a relative of PJ’s and John’s has now joined the firm to continue the tradition of the Sinnott name, and its association with the Camperdown area.
