The Sinnotts Story

Our story begins more than 70 years ago with an ambitious young Accountant, Patrick (PJ) Sinnott, servicing clients around southwest Victoria from the boot of his car.

PJ moved into a permanent office at 8 Church Street, Camperdown in about 1970. This office would be the firm’s base for the next 40 or so years.

We continued to branch out, opening an office in Port Fairy in 1972, at ‘Ambleside’ in Warrnambool in 1997 and then Colac in 2015.

PJ’s son John joined the firm in 1970 remaining a Partner until 2010.

Murray Whiting took a position with the firm in 1983, joining John Sinnott as Partner in 2001. Murray became Principal of the firm on John’s retirement, later welcoming Aaron Sinnott – a relative of PJ and John – into the practice.

Throughout all of this time, Sinnotts Accountants has retained its commitment to the region and to operating with genuine care for every client.

Today, our principal clients include:

  • Farmers and agribusiness
  • Small and medium-sized businesses

  • Retirees.
